Amber Burns

Teaching Assistant

Amber Burns is a multimedia artist and teacher. Growing up in Chanhassen, MN she trained at the Dance Academy in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary dance. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2011 with a BFA and MN K-12 License in Art Education and a minor in dance. She has taught visual art, dance and theater in the Duluth community at schools such as Marshall School, The Duluth Playhouse, the School of the Minnesota Ballet, Madill, 218 Dance Project and many other organizations. In 2018 she finished her MLS degree in Arts Development and Program Management from the University of Denver and was the Artistic Director for the Duluth Playhouse Family Theatre up until 2021. Currently she is the Community Impact Specialist at The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation where she manages youth scholarships. Amber is very passionate about advocating for the arts, youth and helping the local community and excited to be able to get to know the 'Raise The Barre' students and families!
